A blast from your past!

Hi Everyone.    I know I have not been around much at all.  Not that I didn't miss everyone, I just got a new toy and it has been taking more time and attention than my card making.
I bought an embroidery/sewing machine and have been learning so much.  I do want to post my new business card/tag since I did make it using my card making supplies.
I will be posting pics of some of my customized pillows, shirts, towels, bags, etc.  I am also going to start a new blog page and I do want to invite you all.  If  you can offer any suggestions or other related blogs to follow, I would be grateful.
  Thanks everyone!
I will also be selling a LOT of card making supplies.  Including a cricut imagine that I never used.  Lots of Kraftin Kimmie stamps, dies, copic markers, stamps, inks, etc.  Please pass it along to anyone who might be interested.

I mustache you

This is a get well card I made for a friend/client.  He once grew a mustach that was not necessarily flattering and I teased him about it.  It really cheered him up.

I kept it clean and simple and just used an inkadinkadoo stamp and a sentiment I found on a google search.  I cut the frames with nestabilities and added some googly eyes that I had in my stash.
The inside sentiment was also found on google.

He put a ring on it!

This time, I used my cricut Imagine machine.  I tried to hook up to the craft room, but still not successful yet.  I do enjoy using it, but there is an upward learning curve I've yet to master.  Having fun trying though.
I made this Engagement/Birthday card for my cousin, who is a self proclaimed "shoe slut" -  like me.
Her fiance bought her a pair of coveted shoes AND an engagement ring for her birthday.
I used the Weddings cartridge.  A Darice embossing folder was used for the background.  I added some stiching.  She loves ankle straps so, I used a ribbon and some bling from my stash.

You're Purrfect!

While I was away on my cruise, I hired my salon neighbor, who owns a pet grooming shop, to come everyday to look after our cat.
This is a thank you card for her.
I used an "inkadinkadoo" stamp set-  all about cats, and heat embossed with Martha Stewart pink embossing powder... The papers and card stock are from K and Company the ribbons, roses and bling are from my stash.

Happy Anniversary

I finally finished organizing and setting up a craft studio.  Now I am able to use my long neglected, cricut machines.
This is an anniversary, easel,  card I made for my brother and sister-in-law.  I used the Weddings cartridge to make the bride and groom silhouette.  The papers and embellishments are from my stash.  I used my heat embossing tool and silver embossing powders for the sentiments.

Have a Happy Day

I am really loving my Stampin Up dress up framelits die.  I do find though, that the dress form stand is a bit short making the dresses look a bit frumpy.  So, I cut a little piece to add a little lenght to the pole holding the dress form.
I used the cuttlebug and swiss dots folder for the background frame.  The papers are all scraps that I had in my stash. I added a few pearls ( a favorite embellishment)  at the neckline and cut out the shoes from a card that was sent to me. (love to use up everything)  The "happy day" banner was from a chip board set I had in my stash.  I sent this to my Mother in law as a "just because/get well"

Queen of all Moms

Since I was away on a glorious, 7-day cruise on a fantastic ship called Oasis of the Seas; I am a little late with my Mother's day card.

I found this image on a Google search and printed it on a high quality card stock and added some rhinestones in the crown ,(my favorite embellishment),  ribbon and a Martha Stewart punch border.

Highland Fling!

This "just because" card is for my 89 year old Mother who is my Angel on Earth.  She is the kindest, most considerate, dedicated, unselfish person I have ever known.  She had eight children and has many grandchildren and great grandchildren and everyone of us are constantly humbled and awestruck at  her kindness.
Her Parents came from Scotland and Ireland and she was the first one born in America in 1926.  She also had 6 siblings.
I found this sweet little Lassie (could have been a Laddie, I added a bit more hair) on one of the free digi sites or doing a google search.
I colored with copics and pro markers.  Used my cuttlebug for the embossed background frame and added flowers and leaves from my stash.

Runs with scissors!

This is my fist attempt at a pop up card.
I used a Simply Betty Stamp.  It is a birthday card for a friend of mine who is also a hairdresser.
I am not exactly sure  where I found the backing papers, but I think it was from http://freedigitalstamps.blogspot.com/ or  "Free printables"  I'll check the accuracy of that and try to find a link if anyone asks for it.
I colored "Edward Scissorhands:"with copic and pro markers and the sentiment digi has an embossed heart background .  the pop up was easier than I thought.  I also embossed that box,  and I would like to experiment a little more.

Dress up framelit

I recently received my Stampin Up dress up stamp and die and I absolutely love it!!!    I will find so many uses and occassions to for it.  There are two different die cuts and the stamp also includes some clever sentiments.
The papers I used were from DCWV and the ribbons, pearls were from my stash.   I made a matching envelope by lining it with the same paper on the dress.
The shoes on the bottom left I cut out from a card that my Aunt had sent to me.  I made this card for her, just to say hello and "Happy Spring".  She is in her late 80's and has one of the sharpest minds and most cheerful personality.  She really appreciates every little detail that I put into my cards.  Isn't that why we all do this?

"you gotta have heart"

A Birthday/ Thank you card that I sent to one of my clients.  Who is just the nicest guy (besides my husband) that I have ever met.
This is a kraftin Kimmie Stamp that I colored with copics and pro markers.  I used a new "Darice" embossing folder for the hearts and rubbed it with ink.  The stripes in the background are also from a Darice folder.  They are great embossing folders that I found in Michaels and AC more less then half the price of cuttlebug, etc. (tip)
The sentiment and brads were found in my stash.

Men's Jacket card

This is a simple birthday card I made for my cousin who had an great party at a 5th Avenue Penthouse in NYC.  Had the most amazing views of midtown Manhatten.
I found a few tutorials on Youtube to make this  card.  I did add two buttons to the jacket after the pic was taken.  No coloring, I used papers from DCWV.  I did add some simple stiching.  I cut a small pocket and inserted a ribbon.  I made a simple bow tie with the same ribbon.  This was very easy with just a few folds for the collar and a pattern paper for a vest.  .  It's best to use double sided paper.
I also used a few white buttons down the shirt placket.  I did use my Martha Stewart embossing powers and some letter stamps to add his name.

Thank you

This is a simply Betty digital stamp that I made as a Thank you card for a friend of mine, who is also a hairdresser.  I kept it simple by coloring with copics and pro markers.  I fussy cut and mounted with foam tape onto  two pieces of paint swatches.  I love the rich saturation and shine. The backing paper is from DCWV and the bling is from my stash.
I also made the envelope using my crafter's companion (Thank you Louise for recommending it)  I lined the inside with a shiney polka dot paper and I rounded all the corners with a punch.

For a special friend

This is my first attempt at a dresser card.  It was easier than I thought.  I found a few great tutorials on Utube.  I used a KraftinKimmie Stamp called Marilyn.
This is a thank you card for a dear friend who makes the most amazing jewelry.  I did a blog post a couple of days back.  Her line is called StellaLuna Designs and she is on facebook for now.   My husband bought me the necklace for my birthday.  It is a beautiful piece with a gorgeous black and white photo of Marilyn Monroe, surrounded by beads and crystals.
I wanted to send her a Thank you card for gifting me with the matching bracelet and earrings.
I colored the stamp using copics and pro markers.  I also used some old metalic scraps to make strips on the right side.  I used pearl brads for the drawer handles.  I cut out the camisole from a Rubbernecker stamp set and I embossed through the cuttlebug.  The shoes in the bottom left corner were on a card that someone sent to me and I cut and popped them up.  the rest of the bling is from my stash.  I used my silver stamp pad to ink the edges from the DCWV textured paper.  I also used my Martha Stewart punches on the bottom edges for a border.

Thanks for dinner

We were invited to dinner at my Brother's house on the Jersey shore.  Thank God they did not suffer any damage from hurricane Sandy.  They have such a lovely home and are such gracious and elegant entertainers.  I wanted to make and send a special Thank you card.
I found the image by doing a google search for "free digi stamps"  I colored with copics and pro markers.  I cut the image with a circle on the cuttlebug and detailed the cut around the table.  I used a paper  doily and a ruffled edge circle  for the background frame.  The gingham paper is from K & Company and the yellow frame came from an old die cut package that I had in my stash.
